P&L @ Xmas:Back to the old way?

Post by POSTMAN »

So you do P&L for 40 odd weeks,Xmas comes and you revert back to the old way?

Our part-time staff did the early shift and prepped the deliveries, while we took out packets earlier in the vans.
‘We looked at the traffic figures to see how many people we’d need for sorting, and if we had enough people some would start taking oversize packets out early while the sorting took place.’

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Well we are down the road from Haywards Heath and we are doing the opposite.
All P/L rounds are not taking large packets and parcels and we are hoping to get them delivered by postmen on docket after their rounds.
Just like it used to be :arrrghhh

We've also been told to prioritise mail over large packets. The office managers are struggling to get posties back out to deliver cut off mail, even with Royal Mail's lucrative overtime rate :left: . After 2 years of park and loop the novelty of 4-6 hour deliveries must be wearing off, it certainly as with me.

The idea of going out early to deliver the large packets is great but they are not in the DO early :arrrghhh Most of the large packets arrive on the last wave at 7:30ish so its going to be 8:30-9:00ish before anyone is out delivering the which is after most people have left for work. We told the DSM this and he said to roll the large packets over from the previous day so they are ready to start delivery at 7am

They''ve got that plan at my office. Getting casuals in to prep walks apparently. :cuppa
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
