I am expecting an order from Amazon today and unfortunately they are sending it by CityLink.
Now I know we beat City Link hands down on delivery but compare the different status reports you can get. I think we could improve the "Customer Experience" a lot more if we used simple language like city link, rather than the Jargon that is prevalent on the Track Details of Royal Mails site. As for the normal site, I mean that's about as informative as a blank piece of paper.

Ever looked at Parcelforce? The estimated date of delivery is always wrong.

I have some recent history with tracked items. We had just moved house and I had not changed my delivery address with Amazon. I had ordered something for next day delivery, a Saturday, and when it had not arrived I checked the website to find out it had been delivered. I phoned Amazon who told me that Royal Mail had informed them it was delivered. I went to the old address nobody had moved in yet and none of the neighbours had signed for it. After three phone calls I got through to the delivery office where I was told it had been returned to the office and not signed for, eventually a happy ending.
Something else was being delivered by Yodel and when I checked the Tracking, it stated that the item had arrived at East Kilbride depot at Midnight on Saturday evening. This cheered me up as we are only half an hour from East Kilbride by car.The item was delivered on Wednesday,I asked the driver about the delay, he told me that East kilbride office does Motherwell deliveries and all Glasgow deliveries come from the Baillieston office, which is about an hour and a half away in the car. Tracking is only a good idea if the Information is correct.

The very least RM could do is to place the form for entering a tracking number for an item to be tracked on the front page of the RM site.
