Hello all. Any advice on this process. Been told by Atos that I would be seeing a doctor/consultant because they feel that I may not return to work within the next 4 months and that I would not be fit enough for the next 10 years service. I am waiting for treatment and I am hoping to return to work but now I am worried. Can atos doctor say you are fit for work? If he says no would you receive your pension? If in Rm eyes I am not fit to work for them who else would want to employ me as I do still want to work. That is a worry for me to. Anybody else been in this position and can you advise me. Thank you

Hi darren d,I left Royal Mail under IHR on 28th sept this year because ATOS stated that due to my knee I couldn't do a proper round and as Royal Mail claimed that they couldn't or wouldn't find me other work they made me an offer that I couldn't refuse.I had a nice payoff which included holidays and bank holidays which were still due to me.

I don't know how old you are but I will be 60 in December and I am taking a lump sum on my pension which is payable on my birthday along with a reduced monthly payment.

I've got to have a full knee replacement sometime in April next year and there should be no reason why I shouldn't work again if I have to or even want too.

In my experience ATOS did alright by me but obviously everybody is different.Hope everything works out for you.

Maybe if if it could proved that your chances of working again are slim,my advice would be wait until youv'e seen the ATOS doctor and your manager gets their report and if it is bad then contact the pension dept (they were very good and understanding with me).
