Gareth

It has been reported to me that some areas are having difficulty in
dealing with the options available on Bank Holidays. The reason being
put forward is that managers do no know how to input the options
correctly. For instance, if your rest day coincides with a Bank Holiday
it would appear that people are not being credited with the day in lieu.
This came up at a couple of our recent unit rep briefings in the North
East and Scotland. A question was asked if it is possible to circulate
guidance/instructions similar to what happened with obtaining peoples
attendance records when they were being represented at appeals etc. To
remedy this problem we issued a step by step process that would enable
the records to be obtained. Could we do something similar for Bank
Holidays?

I look forward to your reply

Bobby

I have asked HR Services process lead for attendance and absence and
also the PSP Support Team within HR Services if they have a specific
user guide on this and I await their response.

Below are some guidelines issued when PSP was being actively deployed.

Hope this helps

Kind Regards

Anna

Currently if someone's rotation day off falls on a bank holiday they get a leave credit. Will the system do this automatically, and if not, can a manager add it to a person's leave entitlement?

This will be calculated outside of the system. Managers will need to maintain this off system but they can use the TOIL absence type to record when an employee does take a day off to account for this.

How is the days leave credit added to the system (i.e. can a manager add it to someone's leave entitlement)?

The system automatically credits this back to the employee when the correct bank holiday payment is selected.

Currently, people who work a bank holiday can either get overtime or a day leave in credit. What would be the hour's equivalent of a day leave credit?

The number of hours worked on the Bank Holiday would be credited back within the annual leave quota (as a bank holiday day off in lieu)

Currently bank holidays for part timers are pro-rated to ensure everyone is treated fairly regardless of the days in the week they work. Will thesystem do this, and if not,
can managers add the appropriate number of days to a persons leave entitlement?

This will be calculated outside of the system. Managers will need to maintain this off system but they can use the TOIL (time off in lieu) absence type to record when an employee does take a day off to account for this.

When did he become "Bobby"?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
