Interesting article which raises a good question.

As our 'managers' act like robots, the computer says this so it will be so, where is the need for line managers? Just replace them with a coffee machine which prints out the pre-determined result of the back to work interview/stage warning. If we can get one with a sound chip installed to broadcast "sorters up!" RM will save thousands.

Ok he got the 3 weeks wrong for the 1st stage its 4 absences or 14 days.

As to the "Three weeks off twice in a year, and you’re up for dismissal " , I think thats just a simple misunderstanding or more likely an attempt to explain a complicated process to outsiders . If you did have 2 absences of 3 weeks in one year then your next absence is likely to trigger a stage 3, of which dismissal is a possibility. Taking it the other way 42 days absence in a year with no "Fit note" is certainly enough for a stage 3. So I think his explanation, which is aimed at Joe public not Posties, although technically wrong, was a method of simplifying the point to make it more readable.

Any chance of posting the inaccuracies and what they should be - this is an honest request as it will help everyone understand the procedure that much better, especially those like me who are not reps.
