lapsing on light duties???

Simple question.....if say ATOS recommends that someone goes on light duties after a long illness/sickness...perhaps taking say 50% of their walk in their first week back ,then 75% and so on.....are managers correct or within their rights to add/insist lapsing on top of what ATOS has said this individual is capable of in their first week back at work or not?(Thus doing more than the half a walk agreed on by both ATOS,the CWU,managers and the individual concerned only days earlier)?

key word there, "recommends" all atos do is give recommendations, what your dom decides to do with that is within his rights however it would leave him so wide open for a grievance against him if he was deliberately ignoring what atos recommended

No, manager's are not within their rights to add lapsing on to the duty. The back to work agreement is there for a reason, to ease the person physically back into normal duties. However, they could add some light duties to take you up to the duty finish time ...... as long as you don't over do it
