WCM Footwear Check

I kid you not. This morning two managers were going round our office asking posties to raise their feet ( in turn ) so that the tread could be checked against photographs of shoes with comparable wear. We then had to agree the amount of wear on a scale of 1 to 5. The document with the photos was headed World Class Mail.

Yeah we had this a couple of weeks back. They ordered a new pair of Mags for me

Shame they haven't seen my footwear - I've only been waiting 9 weeks for my first "official" pair of shoes!

It's probably to do with winter on the way, and are making sure footwear is up to a certain standard,if you then have a slip/fall their arses are covered.
About 3 years ago there were a lot of accidents which are still ongoing,trouble is most of the time you cant get shoes when you order anyway.
Bearing in mind you have to wear RM footwear, does this mean if they are worn, and you have requested a new pair and have not received them ,is this then a H & S issue to go on delivery ?
I also note they say you must use the insoles included in the shoes,what if you have been issued insoles by orthopaedics to correct a foot problem,if this got worse would RM be held responsible ?

We had ours checked last week. I think its more because of the winter coming up rather than WCM. The managers did a bulk order on shoes. Lets hope they've also done a bulk order on the spikies.

I hope they have improved the design as the ones we got last year were awful. I lost 3 spikes on just one delivery

yeah,,,weve had these footwear checks for the last couple of months cos were flagged as a high risk office LOL lots of accidents from ours......sorry i mean iccidents cos when the review it they change from acc to icc LOL

Our footwear was checked today. We were told that it was because someone had slipped on a patterned concrete drive and had broken a bone. New footwear all round for us....as if that will make a difference when it's icy

Got in today to find my new CAT trainers waiting for me. I carried on and did my walk with my tatty cheap trainers and soaked feet. Went out on overtime later on a new walk so I wore the CATS - and nearly slipped up twice, once on paving slabs and then on a concrete driveway. I've waited 9 weeks for the flipping things and they nearly have me over in less than an hour!

Just got my summer kit a couple of weeks ago, (after 8 months) which is mostly too small now cause I've lost weight walking! Got magnums in there, they are pretty awesome for me. Got my winter kit last week, with a new pair of Dr
Martens. They look like they would be so painful to break in though....

Wore the CATs for my entire walk today and my ankles are aching like hell, as is one knee. Nearly slipped up a couple more times and get the feeling I'll be wearing my own shoes again tomorrow. They can tell me I shouldn't if they want to, but they were happy enough with my wearing my own for two months.
