What constitutes Harassment from management ?

I contacted my line manager to inform him that I would not be available for work due to a leg injury , I had been taking pain relief for a week the pain persisted and got worse ( by the way I was still working a rural delivery with the injury at this point ) , I went to see my GP and he prescribe me a course of steroids for 4 days .....the pain was still there so I needed to see the GP again , he told me I needed to rest and I needed physio and possibly a Cortisone injection into my joint at hip .
First day off work the Monday morning I got a call from my DOM telling me that he was gonna refer me to ATOS , I said brilliant maybe this will get me the physio I need before the nHS ,,,,,he has phoned me twice since looking me back to do indoor hours ,,,,despite me telling him the physio advised I stay off the leg as much as possible , do the exercises he's given me and with more physio for next couple of weeks I MIGHT be ready to go back to work , but if I go back too soon hat I will undo what he's done and I will end up worse and be off for longer !!
What should I do ?

let him contact atos, get a sick note dont go in for indoor duties cos they will tek the piss.
get fit and go back when your ready. any probs phone bullying/harassment helpline.

I take it by the number of views this post has had and the few replies , that this therefore is normal procedure and doesn't not warrant Harrassment ! , even though I have had two missed calls on my mobile , a voicemail telling me to contact the office and a text msg from my line manager telling me to contact the DOM !

The advice would always be the same - contact your rep or go over them to the Area Rep . I certainly think from what you have posted its borderline B&H at best, at worst a Manager under pressure passing it on to you.

However, your manager could argue that he is fulfilling his obligation to keep in contact with you. When you called in Monday did you advise your manager when you would next contact him as that is part of our obligation in the sickness procedure.

I would try and call your rep before contacting the manager to get their advice but you will probably have to call the manager even if just to put him off for a few days.

As to the number of views versus replies - I would not read too much into that we are quite an active site so the various search engines have "bots" that trawl the site and this will inflate the number of views (but not unique visitors)slightly. Also as most now finish between 2 and 3 some will skim threads and then formulate their replies for the ones they are interested in.

It wont help you im afraid but the new attendance procedure SHOULD put a stop to how we are unfairly treated by the managers as soon as we go off sick. Put a stop to all this hassle from them you get via the phone calls etc.
