This presumably from the CWU, unaware that Royal Mail still prices items as 'Letters', 'Large Letters', 'Packets' and 'Standard Parcels'.

What with packets now known as parcels,and the likely closure of POMC,does that mean the new "Parcelforce" hub in Hampshire could actually be a packet/parcel based MC?
With the falling letters and growing rise of online shopping could it mean bigger DO's fitted with iLSM/CSS for the letter side of the business,with super MC's fitting with packet/parcel sorting automation,or does that make too much sense?

Rumour at our Parcelforce depot is that Parcelforce will be delivering all standard parcels as Parcelforce 48 hr deliveries. Anybody else heard this?

I just have this gut feeling that Royal Mail is hanging on to Parcelforce (and what seems a good idea given the historical plans by the tories to sell-off Parcelforce in the 90s) so that it can bring it back under Royal Mail proper. This would mak sense rather than have service agreements etc between 2 companies that are owned by the same Group, surely?

I hate calling parcels packets, a packet is a bag like a packet of crisps, packet of sweets etc. A parcel is a wrapped up box or item , thats what ive always called them, who's ever heard of PACKETFORCE , or INTERPACKET, my parcels have increased but I do call it a packet bag. Although it's been said i've got a big packet not parcel!!

I do believe you get a free one issued on day one of the Managers course - its their policy document after all.
