Advice on Sickpay

Hi everyone!

I am on a 3 month rolling contract with 35 hours. I am a working there for a bit more than a year now.I recently developed a heel pain and more worryingly a left shoulder problem.I have a terrible pain when I am reaching back like closing a sliding door on a van.I went to a gp and been told use my other hand,and get 2 weeks light duty.It did not get better.I am planning to go to a specialist.I don't know if I am entitled for sick pay for this type of contract.There is no mentioning at all in my contract or anywhere as a matter of fact. To get things more complicated we will undergo the revision very soon,it is set already.After that I have been offered a 20 hours contract for late duties,which is not a sustainable salary for me. I don't know what to do.

after a years service you can get a weeks sick pay.

It's dependent on length of continuous service. If you have had a year of continuous service then you'll get full pay for 6 months. If you have less than one year then it's statutory sick pay only.
