this letter should have been sent out long ago and a further letter about balloting for industrial action should be sent out.
this whole revision carry on is well beyond a joke.
when you read some of the stories posties are repoting on here it is quite shocking the levels some managers are going to push in these revisions.
these so called revisions have been the most ill thought out i have ever seen in my 40 years in the job,its about time our elected leaders started doing what they were elected to do and start representing their members.

The special edition of The Voice?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

:hmmmm Well now this is one of those "Gonna" letters, we're gonna do this, we're gonna do that - what exactly are they going to the table with? It can't be industrial action because there just isn't the support - there would have been two years ago but what with the "New understanding and Close cooperation and full CWU involvement" - not forgetting the "Joint Statements" there's no chance.

It's a very worrying picture that transpires when more than two years ago we had the Road Show to get members to support BT 2010 and it's another Road Show now looking for support to go to the table. Had they listened to reason two and half years ago we wouldn't be in this situation.

It sounds like heading in the right sort of direction (maybe) but we needed this at least 12 months ago. The CWU has stuck its head in the sand and allowed the working conditions and agreements to crumble so may will think "whats the point".

I think your right krussel, the position of the national officers has always been that these changes would have came in anyway and we needed an agreement to deal with them.
Even today Dave Ward said that we would still be facing the same challenges even without the agreement and he is 100% correct.
What he does fail to understand though,is the affect that agreeing those changes as opposed to fighting them has on the engagement of the membership.
He might be right on one level that it was better to have an agreement to protect members...but if the members then turn their backs on you because of that agreement you've actually done more harm than good in the long term.
