we don't have a rep at our office anymore as he quit just before last Xmas and no one has taken over the mantle, Area rep can be difficult to get hold of.

3 years ago I came into work and after an hour or so I suffered with an upset stomach, I carried on and bundled / bagged up and then had another bout of you know what
as I had started the days work I did not get done for a day's sick, it shows on my record as stomach upset but no days are showing as sick.

fast forward to August this year. went to work with a migraine, took my meds, informed my Dom that I may have to go home, again I had bundled / bagged up and then informed Dom that I would have to go home, this was after roughly 1.5 hrs into a 5 hour day.
this DID get classed as a full days sick on my record.

3 weeks ago I had the virus/cold that is hitting everywhere resulting in 4 days off work sick ( agree to this being classed as sick as it was )
now I am being put on a stage two warning as two instances of sickness within a 6 month period. ( have been on a stage one since March 2nd 2012 and had zero days sick )

am I right is arguing that since the first 1/2 day sick was not classed as a full day that neither should the one in August this year and thus not triggering the stage warning.

I have asked my area rep to let me know when he can come over to our office to sort this out but I am still waiting a reply to my phonecall to him

If you went home sick from work after 1 and a half hours that is classed as Part Day absence and should be discounted unless you have already been warned that future Part day absences will be counted
for a stage 2 it is 10 days or 2 absences off in a 6 month period so by my calculations as 1st absence was a part day it will not be counted

exactly my point, but my DOM is going to do me for stage two, hence my question.

thanks for the answer I was looking for, just got to arrange for my Area Rep to be around now as my DOM will go ahead with the stage two regardless of what I say, and I don't want to have to possibly go to a stage 3 anytime in the future when there is no need to.
