Overtime squeezing blood from a stone !!!

Is it just my office or are all managers toeing the same line when it comes to overtime (OT)..In the 14 years of working in RM I thought I heard every excuse not to give you OT but now their throwing the amount of mail that came in on each feed, divided by the amount of staff changed into a percentage of mail per duty so "Computer says no" what !!! . Who's to say that one duty gets hammered and the rest are light a PC "I don't think so" but its happening !! ..Its like squeezing blood from a stone in my office . Just wondering if this is happening all over ???

It's really simple don't do it, get your workmates in on it (aka a union) and all refuse overtime, the result is them begging you to do it and maybe even pay a premium, try it, trust me it works

Had one guy this week offered to stay out and finish for 45 mins. The dom said "no" and offered 30 The postie said he would cut.

Of course the dom had left for home before the guy was back. The postie cut off and they had to send out someone else out and eneded up paying 1hr OT.

RM senior management are just going through the process of "cooking the books" to make the business more appealing to prospective buyers. Whoever buys RM will think they are getting a bargain.

Agree with that, leave it behind for them to deliver, they want us to work our hours...........then that's what I'll do (and I'm big enough and ugly enough to do that).

Why the feck do they say ,,the mails under ,,it's an office average and not individual jobs. Some of our duties in the office get a s**t more than some yet , yet the mails down as its an office average? 12 bags of mail Thursday ,some jobs 5or6 how can they lump all jobs in together? Any thoughts people?
