SSP QUESTION

Can anyone explain what happens when you are sent an SSP1 form from HR , I have been told that my entitlement to SSP has ended (after 28 weeks),will my pay now be automatically reduced by the weekly rate of SSP and how many weeks can you be off before you then go on to half pay?.....I am confused !!

If you are on full pay at the time your SSP runs out, you will stay on full pay until it is time to go on to half or no pay. If you are on half pay or no pay then you will be getting SSP on top of this, so you will lose the SSP element.

The entitlements for SSP and RM sick pay are not related but the overriding rule is that you can't earn more than your full pay.

It's not possible to say how long it will be before you go on to half pay without seeing your absence record.

Thanks for your reply,the letter from HR did not explain things properly and even when I phoned them I go no sense !
