Yes but now we into autumn pressure period. Four days of IA. Then see what the backlog is like? Bit like the miners going on strike in winter when you needed coal. Never went on strike in the summer!

Thing is when this dispute flared up the CWU's aim was to get RM back around the table talking and if they were willing to talk we would halt IA if they stopped EA.
That happened it didnt work so lets not keep looking back and look forward.
If RM want to talk but only if we suspend the strikes we can tell them to go f**k themselves.

The period of calm was a big mistake yes. I believe it was done to show goodwill and prevent RM from trying to claim the high ground and brand the union as some sort of troublemakers with no interest in the future of the business.
Looking on the positive side the strikes gave us the opportunity to demonstrate through action to RM the level of support for the unions position.
The 48 hour strikes may yet prove to be a bigger mistake than the above though I hope not. I still think there will be strong support but not to the extent of the previous strikes. A trade off of sacrificing maybe 10% of those striking against the length of the strike.
My big worry is that those that do work during the 2 day strikes will not come out in the rolling ones-once they`ve crossed the picket line they`ll continue to do so. Net result we`ll have rolling strikes but with lower support than those we`ve had so far.
