In our office now, we cant have a drink at ips, we cant have a drink at our fittings, we cant talk to the person next to us even if its about the actuall walk we are doing,in fact they want every working second devoted to the good of RM. We have managers walking around enforcing these rules. They are now really getting on my nerves and others. Some of us are now being retested and the planners coming out with us are just the same, you cant even scratch your balls without being chastised. Is this happening in YOUR office ? if it aint, it soon will be. WE ARE NOT MACHINES.

Its exactly what's happening in our office mate.i have been tested three times and still planners are nsaying the walk isn't working because of postmen not because its to big.other staff have been tested four times the planners will never admit there wrong.it is a depressing stressfull job now and guess what? royal mail don't care there out to make money so balls to how we all feel.its a terrible way to treat your staff but the simply don't give a monkeys andany manager that doesn't do the bully boy tactics gets the boot so that's why there pushing so hard.in the future there will be no contracts no sick pay and Dutys that last all day. If this is modernisation then call me militant but they can stick it.

Perhaps at some point they might realise that having some twonk of a failed postman in a Primark shirt standing over us actually demotivates the staff.
They are paying an extra wage to get a less efficient workforce.
It is a lose-lose situation for them.

All managers in Royal Mail work on the theory that as long as there is a poorer manager on the shop floor than them...by definition their own job must be safe.
It is managerial suicide to promote someone more capable than you which means when it comes to picking the new batch of "acting" managers....your typical incompetent manager really has to dig deep in the pit of uselessness to find that twonk in the Primark shirt.
