How is your office coping with packet volumes.?

My Office in meltdown ,hit Dec 2011 volumes a month ago.Locker unable to cope with a old fashhioned method of
of dealing with packets .

In need of more staff wich Managers say we do not need.

Long term sick very high ,strange thing since walks were made a lot bigger sick has gone very high and Managers cant understand why as according to them rounds are very easy .

IPS is a mess not enough staff,and now spending lots of hours segging mail into correct postcodes as if we want mail segged District has to pay mail center.

Hate to think what December will bring .

if we want mail segged district has to pay mail center, what does your mail center do then as for paying who told you that one. if your managers think your walks are to easy dont do the overtime let them cover it.

Christmas will be a nightmare this year, we've lost about 5 FT staff so we don't even have any spare to make up difference in the IPS or delivery. We can't really cope with the packets now and if it really ramps up then we'll be screwed.

a complete shambles in our office to. no surprise exactly the same issues not enough staff on ips mail not segged walks not covered. but in managers dream world budgets and figures come first and nothing else matters. cant get time off when you want dont get paid docket that you have
done bring on xmas.

My office are only getting 3 extra vans, last year they got 5 and only just managed. Packets are doomed for failure. Oh and last year i worked my pressure at my office, this year I won't be rushing to do any overtime. Well, not in my office. Unless my manager changes his mind about my holidays .

When we need to go the extra mile ......we go a mile and a half.
If things get bad we come in early for free ......because we love our jobs and love our managers and love the company.
We don't take breaks (except for the dirty dozen, who let the side down)
We don't use the correct equipment and we don't claim overtime.
Try it. It works.
