Went into try and get holidays off, was told full from April to October. No holidays whatsoever are available. Yet in our office we have people with 30+ days still to take holidays.

Are you serious?, I think this is against the law 5 months without a holiday is way to much in my opinion, we have 3 weeks off between april and october that get moved forward 6 weeks each year plus winter leave till april.steven100 wrote:Went into try and get holidays off, was told full from April to October. Suggest to your manager that they employ more staff, who could then cover while people take their holidays.

Even if not in the Union go to the local rep, if none, or they are unwilling to take action, go to branch. It sounds like they have used "seniority" to select slots, but if they have then this is an abuse of it, everyone should be able to have some holidays during summer, thats one of the selling points about absorbing/lapsing.

Ok maybe i wasn't clear enough. I do have my holidays in October or September.
But what i'm trying to say is NO Holidays extra whatsever. So if people have over and above their 3 weeks, so another 3 weeks its going to be fun and games. So say wee Jimmy wants a saturday off in June next year now. Its going to be a no no.

Our office is number 1 in lapsing in the UK. It may depend on the when our revision takes place.

I really.....really don't get this holiday problems bollox a lot on here seem to face,the sheets go out,you all pick,they are sorted,sheets given back,and then the swapping starts if needed.
