Whilst i would never really want to rant about this bunch of effing cowboys. They left a packet outside my front door.. which is open to the street..

But of course the good thing is that they put a note through my door saying that they had left it in a 'safe place' at my front door

It's as bad as those couriers who leave next catalogues and readers digest books on doorsteps , in the rain, outside empty houses etc, but who gets chowed at first - US!

Chowed is correct. At least according to my spell checker. Although I'm not too sure of your definition. I always thought it was 'something rude'.

I love City Link.
They have returned 3 of my parcels to sender stating my address does not exist.
Best of all was the last one.
Left note on door asking if they would leave it next door.
Got in from work and had been carded. Lady next door spoke to driver and he would not leave parcel with her as he needs a signiture from the householder.
Phoned up Citylink and asked them not to re-deliver it the next day and I would pick it up.
Next day I did the 15 mile trip to the citylink depot to get my parcel.
No parcel it had gone out for re-delivery. Lady checked on computer and confirmed it had been delivered.
I pointed out that was impossible as the house was empty. Much arguing later I left shaking my head and went home .
As expected no parcel and no card . City link not answering phone.
About 8pm I get a knock on the door.
It's a bloke who lives up the road with an address slightly similar to mine. He got home from work and found the parcel on his doorstep. No signiture taken from him for it.
Thank him for his honesty.
Then spend the next day ranting at Citylink who deny everything and say it was delivered to my address and they have the signiture to prove it !

I'm a customer and try wherever possible to get things delivered by Royal Mail/Parcelforce for all the reasons stated above. Have great fun on ebay when a listing quotes Royal Mail Special Delivery and then they try to use a courier to my PO Box. "Should of got the listing accurate....."

One of the private firms that delivers on my walk has a funny way of leaving their version of p739s they seem to have a thing about not putting them through the letter box.
Recently sellotaped to the front of a box on the gate i saw one in plain view saying "Since you were not in i've left the parcel by the front door" and my all time favourite inside a porch a packet on a shelf with a card on top saying "packet in porch".

I had so much trouble with delivery firms I installed cctv and if I have trouble now and I still do - I offer to provide proof of non-delivery attempts or leaving in what I consider inappropriate places.

I would also ring the company that uses them to say how yodel treats their items to customers. They might think twice about using them then

Similar to above, I would have told citylink I will be contacting the sender to say what they have done
