hate working on sats ,earlier start than the rest of the week as well!! so my friday nite is F****d, and im like a bloody zombie on satday nites cause i been up so early ,,...grrrrrrrr hurry up an modernise and look after your workforce rant over be in bed soon

It's modernisation that's ruined your saturdays.
15 years ago i could still go out on a friday night even though i was working the next day safe in the knowledge that i would be back home in bed on saturday morning by 0900 at the latest after a tough 4 hour sort,prep and once over the ground...including my break.
I loved a saturday morning then.

I now start at 8.30 every day, no problems with early starts, but obviously finish later. I used to hate the earlier starts on a saturday and as you say was falling asleep come 10pm on saturday night not any more.

i remember them days wen i had to wait for the shop to open so i cud finish lol,, scary bit is we aint had no modernisation yet ,its all gradually creeping in ,abit at a time last week we was told to sort and take mailsort on a sat .... i said if theres no one there wen i get bak my pouch will be launched over the gates ,unless my dom or lakys wants to return from there static caravans to pik my s**t up out my puch from off the yard the office betta be open !! they say ohhhhhh the lorrys are comin later ,so u wanna change my times ,,EASY DEAL giv me summat in return and your wish is granted oh mighty dom....

yes them were the days fishtank,struggle to keep awake for match of the day nowadays,thanks to busy sats

I don't know what people are complaining about, I don't mind working a Saturday, just make sure you get a power nap in the afternoon and I find I can make the whole of MOTD

I party on Friday night and go to sleep at 2.00am ish then wake up at 5.45 for work at 7.00am then finish about 2pm then sleep 2 hours in afternoon and party all night from 10pm - 2.30am and go to sleep at 3.30am.

Maybe you should consider becoming a DOM,

Mailsort only arrives in MCs now the day before it's due for delivery so should be reaching DOs on the day it's due for delivery so hence why the DOMs making you sort and take it out for delivery (probably well over 90% of what used to me Mailsort has gone over to DSA over the last few years.

The lorrys that arrive at MCs with inward work arrive later now because AFAIK logistics will wait until an artic is full before it is sent so with the work arriving at the MC later it gets processed later and with the distribution drivers now coming under logistics it can only be a matter of time before the lorrys that take the stuff to the DOs from the MCs only get sent out when they are full.
