Family friendly Request - not hopeful.

I put in a flexible working/family friendly request today addressed it to my line manager as told to but he just turned round and said i've passed it one to blah blah another line manager who acts as DOM sometimes

My line manager basically passed the buck but he did mention it was only for school age children (daughters just hit 1) and that i may have to go to another office to accommodate my request all i'm asking for is a 30 min earlier finish than currently doing!

It's like i'm asking the earth, another fella is on similar but the duty he's paired with has a duty 'holder' ie someone signed for that duty so the lino thinks that could cause an issue ( if they offered me that)

Joke of a company, thought they were family friendly it's in the hands of the other lino now.

Find out who else is on family friendly in your office he can't single you out and make sure you tell him the school is near the office where you work and if you were at another office and the school called then your near as possible. He is calling your bluff...

I think there was two people on FF they both used to work in the van share until one had to change again to a later shift completely.

That gem should be endorsed as policy at conference and should be the starting point in all negotiations between the CWU and RM

If the lino has passed it on and washed his hands of it, cut to the chase and keep pestering the manager that it has been passed to.

Yep i know that but the Lino obviously thought i didn't or he just didn't know himself, hard to say which applies to be honest.

Passed on now, he has i think 28 days to get back to us although he hasn't returned the cut off slip yet that was on the bottom of request.

Buump!!

Posted on another thread but just found this one after a search! so a little update.

I've only just sorted my family friendly out, it didn't take long

Upshot is i'll now start 1 hour earlier and be in at 0543! and 0643 on others. I've also come off my walk that i've held for 3+ years (p+l) to go onto a cycle duty.

Quite happy with that but the way it was done was totally
