Delivering to neighbours in the Courior

Post by eastie »

On the middle page spread,
"Delivering to neighbours doesnt make the round any longer" ;liar
They are saying that 55% of people are out during the day , so that IF the person is out that you want to deliver a parcel to , there is a 50/50 chance the neighbour is out as well .
So as they(Courior) like to give us statistics it would mean that in trying to deliver 4 parcels , 2 would be in , 1 would be in next door (2nd try) , and 1 would be in 2 doors away (3rd try) and you then would have to go back to the original addresses 2 times out of 4 to write a docket out.

They (Courior)say you will save time on bringing packets back........ you are going to bring some back anyway so no time saved there.
they also say " you will save time on preparing items for redelivery "???
how will that save any time as it goes in the holders office overnight
Who is writing this tosh ??
Not a postman thats for sure

Someone who's never delivered so much as a letter in their entire existence.

Mine goes straight in the bin unread.
That money talks,
I'll not deny,
I heard it once,
It said 'goodbye'.

Anyone else notice, seeing the letterbox stickers when delivering the Courier, a much higher proportion of RM staff don't want packets delivered to neighbours compared to rest of the public? :whistle

I think we've another Cardiff, are some offices really that fecking thick?
Chester delivery office used to get
a high number of customer complaints
about items not being available
for collection or redelivery.
Most were based on the organisation of
the enquiry office.

Complaints have been reduced by sorting
items alphabetically by street, with the
house number/name highlighted in bright
colours, and Special Delivery/Tracked
and standard letters all filed separately.
Postwoman Sharon Jones says: ‘It
means we serve customers more professionally
and quickly.’
Postman Paul Willis says: ‘The improvements
were a team effort, also including
colleagues Alison Broomhall,
Linda O’Donnell, Philip Cook and Lisa
Davidson.
‘Customers’ perception of us has improved;
it’s difficult to actually quantify,
but there is less tension in the office and
fewer queues, which ultimately improves
their experience.’

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
