manager problem

Post by arsenal321 »

i feel as if my manager is picking on me and trying to make my time at work miserable , he moved me and only me from where i usually work , and i agree a manager can move and do what he likes with his workers so i said ok thats fine , is there any particular reason why u decided to move only me, he kept sayin because i wanted to very aggresively..... later that day i decided to instead of hold a grudge , go and speak to him and ask him does he have a problem with me because ever since i started he has never said hello , and is always watching me and wont let me even say hi with peopl i no in the office , but everyone else is allowed to over a period of time it has become very annoying ...so i asked him and he became very aggresive in saying basiclly if u dont like what i do you know where the door is(knowing i need the job and woudlnt go) , i am being petty (when i felt to my self it is a serious issue) , and thretaned to cancel my contract and not give me a renewal, everytime i tryed to speak he would raise his voice and talk over me... any way is there any advice on what i can do because i was furious with the way he treated me , i would not let any one speak to me like that outside of work and i dont come to work to be made to feel like crap and spoken to like crap.

Royal Mail have never done anything about this type of personality in the business. This is the standard sort of sociopath that slips through the net probably in every mail centre in the country. With no management training course except for the graduates these nutcases keep coming through because no one else wants the job. With no communications skills they resort to aggression. Although on a bit of a large time scale the "what goes around comes around" always does come true. Id tell everyone you know about his behaviour, invent an evil nickname for him, watch him for any useful information (intensive spying really), also a bit of staring at him may give him a spook. Royal Mail wont do anything about him, other managers will just think its funny. Although they dont do it themselves theyll let the nutcase do some bullying on their behalf.

Record your conversations with him and make notes of details, dates and times of any incidents with him. Always remain calm and polite and do not raise your voice to him. When you have sufficient evidence put in a grievance against him citing any incidents you have noted.

In recent months there has been an increase in the number of reports/queries coming into the department regarding bullying and harassment of our members in delivery offices. Stories of members feeling intimidated on a regular basis with most of this centring on members being forced to work beyond their time in order to complete deliveries or being accused of under performing or being slow. This type of approach will not be tolerated and we are currently gathering evidence from around the Country to raise this with Royal Mail at the highest level. If you have been or are subject to this or know someone who has or is please let the dept know by letter, or phone call or preferably by email to outdoorsecretary@cwu.org

Inform the area maager that he's been making lewd suggestions and you want to know if it's bad manners to refuse a bj because it'll take you over your time.

Arsenal,

If you are not a reserve, you will be a duty holder. Working in another section is voluntary.

Raise a grievance that you are the only duty holder in your section that is required to work in another section.
