Late mail...

Our final trays of mech is arriving at our office later and later everyday. Our area manager is trying to insist on later start and finish times but our rep is fighting it. The area manager says our mail is coming in late as its not ready yet a few people who have been there have said they have seen our trays of mail sitting there for up to 2 hours. This late mail is resulting in more and more people cutting off sometimes 2/3 bags at a time. I cut off 3 bags today. Didn't start delivery until 11:30. Joke!

in my opinion they are sending them late to enforce their changes later starts or to make sure you dont finish early

Its a standard tactic. Ask for later starts which they know nobody wants. Start delaying the feeds to match the new start times in a RM version of the water torture (Japanese not American) in an attempt to wear you down.

The things that gets my goat is not that RM do it I kind of expect that, but that MCs Reps and activists don't warn the DOs or help to fight it by making sure that the departures are released on time. Perhaps if we got rid of this "ain't my problem" or "won't affect me" attitude that seems rife within the Union we might actually get back to a Union that fights for everyone and not accept the 2010 fiasco of Winners and Losers.

Same thing happened to us,same scenario batch 2 lying on the loading bay for an hour waiting for neighboring D.O. batches to justify a 600.
Same threats to move our start times.
Solution....We now collect our own.

Yeah I think that's what we are planning on doing...to be fair our dom has backed us for once...end of the day im on 25 hour contract. I do extra hours at the moment but if they insist on later and later starts and finishes ill go back to my basic hours. Simple 5 hours a day

your bloody right. We get ours at 5:30 out by 7 now they are doing a revision to f**k it all up. They can shove the mail up their ass!!

logistics seem to wait until a van or lorry is full before sending it so it means that stuff reaches MCs (and probably DOs as well) later so it's probably only going to be a matter of time before MCs and DOs start and finish a couple of hours later

best way to turn this round is to deliver the first lot of mail .then come back and do a second delivery.
the times they send our work up is nearly the same as when we had two deliverys.royal mail is determined to screw up the job so go back to two deliverys and prove that its time for moya and her money merchants to resign with a vote of no confidence in our higher management.
