Police & Crime Commissioner Elections 15 November 2012 – Poll Cards

This LTB is to provide confirmation to Branches that those involved in the delivery of Poll Cards for the upcoming Police & Crime Commissioner Elections will be paid at the rate per item applicable to the delivery unit, in line with the National Agreement covering the delivery of election material. The statement below from Royal Mail confirms this.

I can confirm we will make the unit payment for each poll card delivered for the Police and Crime Commissioner elections which are held on 15 November. There is no candidate material for these elections, which cover England and Wales with the exception of London.

We are also aware that Royal Mail Regional planners have been given confirmation of the pay arrangements for the poll cards.

CWU Reps will need to be aware that the poll cards will have to be delivered in line with their product specification.

Yes someone else will deliver them and you will get the payment.

our poll cards arrived yesterday and yet again management have fail to tell us that we are getting paid for these........all we are told is to get the things out and delivered on that day

we were told and manager came round to take the number of cards we had to deliver yesterday,see if we get paid for them now

We had thousands of poll cards through the CSS machines Friday/Saturday, so they were mixed in with the sequenced mail,it will be the same tonight and probably tomorrow as well, so no way of getting an accurate count from individual walks. They'd better have a system in place regarding payment (eg.number of households x 2.5 or something) or it won't be pretty.

I'm not on deliveries, so I won't get paid for them, but even so, I don't grudge you guys the extra payment. Just make sure you get it.

p.s. If you've got nursing/retirement/rest homes on your delivery, see if you can get more cash. Some of them get 50+ cards.

Isn't it 6.6p per Poll Card times an estimated 2½ cards per Drop which totals 16.5p per drop ?

Yes there is a D2D leaflet - this is not counted as Election Material so we get no payment - there was an LTB about it on Friday.

We should all get a payment for delivering them as far as I know, although the agreement was not set up for "bag carriers" ao it may be worth getting confirmation.
