Flexability? How flexible do you have to be?

The situation - People who come back,say less than 20 mins early, are expected to go back out on walks that have cut off.Now, we are being told that under the last agreement we are expected to go over our time up to 30 minutes, unpaid, but somehow you will get the time back? Surely then, they are getting two bites of the cherry? This rule needs to be made crystal clear to people, to me it seems unfair. I'll quite happy work my time but going over is big NO!

The 30 minutes flexibility thing is only if you want to do it.

Me, I would have a doctors appointment. No need to tell them before as it is in your own time.

Of course the simple answer is not to go back before your time.

The Flexibility Agreement categorically says that the 30 minutes is for unexpected circumstances or unexpected excess traffic, and that they can ask you to flex up to 30 minutes, however individual circumstances must be taken into consideration. Also contractual hours for the week will not change, therefore if you agree to flexing 30 minutes, it must be given back to you in the same week.You can only be asked to flex once in any given week. If you happen to make 30 minutes on one day, the manager cannot claw this back later in the week under the flexibility agreement.

why go back into your office after your duty,also if you had an accident after your duty time would your manager
still be in the office to take the call.managers leave themseleves wide open for staff to take out dissagreements against them. as for working for nothing there are enough staff doing that before there start times.

Well this has been my argument the last week if your a fool to come in early not take a break and get out early and run around like a idiot you might as well go to your manager every morning and beg him/her for more work. What the next stunt will be is idiots going up at their break asking managers "can I have my 30 minute flex now boss" Work your time. Take your breaks Simple!

Once it was all written down and called an agreement it wasnt flexible anymore. Whoever agreed it and added it to an agreement needs to realise what the word flexible means and then would realise that making it part of an agreement defeats the whole idea of it.
