Help with Payslip

Hiya guys, just started last week, got my first pay slip through the post, a lil help please guys.....

My pay is slightly higher than expected, is this cause I'm getting paid for this week and till Tuesday when pays due?

Also, I have the basic pay and then I also have arrears of basic pay? What's that for?

The basic pay which you receive on friday is for that week. So if you started last week and did not get paid last friday then that is why you have arrears of basic pay for last week.

welcome first of all, hope it's going ok for you so far. All overtime for the present week is paid a week later so as you said you started last week so the arreas will be for this.

Im outgoing myself - signed VR paper to confirm my departure now just waitng for the leaving date as my mail centre is closing.

i have arrears of basic pay and arrears of delivery supplement on mine and it's minus amounts not plus... any advice?

Hello everyone,

I just started working as of Monday 08/10/2012. In my contract is say 334.89 per week, but I have received my payslip and it is only 237 pound. Is this because I was only paid Monday through until thursday? A little help please.

I am contracted 30 hours a week if that helos.

£334.89 pay rate would be for full time hours (40 pre revision, 39 post revision)

334.89 is the pay rate (basic pay) based on a 40hr/w contract (assuming no shorter working week for simplicity) i.e. the hourly rate is £8.37

So, you are contracted for 30/40 (30 out of 40) = 3/4 of the basic pay rate which is £251.17 which is equal to 30 * 8.37

This is all before deductions (which reflects the lower amount you reported)
