2 issues where do i stand????????

yesterday i ended up working 30 mins over my finish time when i asked my manager this morning to book my 30 o/t but was told i had to tell him before i left the office that i would be going over my time. i couldnt be arsed with the hassle so told him to keep the half hr . i will make sure in future each day i will inform my manager as i did today that i wasnt sure if i would complete my delivery but would not be working over my time again. having looked into it further and had advise from my rep it seems there is no officail agreement for me to tell my manager i may go over my time only if i intend to bring mail back, but there is an official agreement that every minute worked must be payed for therefore what is his problem ? i will find out monday what the outcome is but i have made my mind up i will never work over my time for this manager again and if i dont get payed for the 30 mins i will not work overtime for royal mail again except for when i have to i.e. xmas duties. 2nd issue i finished work at 15.10 today my duty finish time is 3.15 when i got back to the office everwhere was locked up the gates locked so couldnt get in to return items from my van. surely a manager should be on duty while posties are still out or at least till peoples duty time finishes there must be a health and safety issue here what would happen if i crashed into a ditch out in the countryside surely a manager on duty could phone me or alert someone there could be a problem after a couple of hours or would i still be lying there till monday ?????????? anyone know where i stand on this issue ?

There is no difference at Xmas to any other time of the year. They cannot make you work beyond your conditioned hours just because it,s christmas pressure.

Work from an SPDO and that's what happens. I usually lock up when I finish on a Saturday.

they should pay you for the 30 mins over under flexabilty or unforseen overtime and there should really be some one there till everyone is finished but they still want there flyer on a saturday

Apparently all our managers went home yesterday as soon as the last van drove out of the yard leaving a blue shirt in the cage to collect D/L items when we got back. They don't give a f**k about us as long as they get an early finish on a Saturday.

Why delivering, they are not paid to deliver, they are paid to manage. If there is nothing for them to manage, then they are surplus to requirements and should either be made redundant and or offered a job in deliveries. Why should they be paid £30k plus a year to deliver when we only get circa £20k

There is nothing or nobody to manage , they should be sent home at 10am , pay them for what they work , about 3 hours a day or get rid of them. All the other stuff is covered by the phg's , rle staff, underdom and dom.

Not only that they leave the packet's D2D and recorded's and send the spl/tracked on the drivers and give them some of the walk too!
