Wilful Delay/Out of time

What is the difference between wilful delay or out of time? if you cut off from a walk your out of time to my eyes, but if you hide mail or deliberately won't go in to a street or flats that's wilful delay.
So if you wanted to finish on your time lets say 2.pm and you told the manager you was not going over what happens with the mail in your bag after 2pm its no point saying bring enough out what you can deliver its impossible to figure that out.

Surley if your finish at 2pm you advise the manager (before 2pm) that you will be working to time and ask what they want you to do with the mail.
I would assume they would settle on bringing the undelivered mail back to the office.
You come back allowing sufficient time before 2pm to allow for travelling and unloading and dropping of "notice lefts" and any unused breaks such as 30 mins meal break etc.

Not for you to figure out. Get the manager to make the judgement. That,s what he is paid for. If he overcalls the amount to be left in the office, that is his call and you cannot be done for willful delay. However you are obliged to work your hours, so if you do get back early be prepared to do any work that you are trained to do up to your finish time.

That's rubbish Lounge Lizard you are paid for your hours not a shift which is different a shift is you have to complete, your hours you work till your time is up.

I think the Overrunning Deliveries OPG Notification Procedure needs a complete renegotiation and rewrite.
It was never designed to deal with park&loop,shared deliveries or "flexing up".

Once a delivery postperson leaves for delivery the clear expectation is that all mail must be delivered....is no longer a sustainable position with the number of variables the job now entails.

If you inform your manager that you will be unable to complete, you will get away with being bullied and intimidated. If you dont tell him then you will get sacked for willful delay.

Apparently not so Lincox a guy in my office told a manager twice last week he cannot complete and the manager told him Saturday because he finished earlier and the words was “you caused me grief this week” Cheeky sod he only worked his time and decided against going over where others did during the week, I hear he is taking it further. Is that not bullying and intimidation?

if i went off what time the duty sheet said, i would be able to arrange things, i.e helping the missus and pick up the kids from school... but i always end up going over. not just me though... seems everyone does.

Why would you not go off the time sheet ? When they advertised the job did it not have a start and finish time advertised ?

Apart from the odd commen sense few minutes, I WILL NOT WORK WITHOUT BEING PAID, simples.

I need to pick my kids up every week day, I cut off, manager moans, I shrug my shoulders, manager moans, I go home, manager moans. Its become a bit of a sitcom really.
