Apparently argument between Manager and Postman. Postman suspended, Manager Wasn't - Posties walked out.

Much as I support the actions of my colleagues in Liverpool and Preston, I can't help wondering why they are so different to my DO.
I am sure if the same thing happened here at least 90% of the staff would back the manager up.

Apparently the manager shouted everyone up for IPS and 1 guy refused. He was asked 3 times and said NO, then the manager raised his voice and shouted for him to get on IPS, and the postman headbutted the manager smashing his nose. He was then escorted from the premises, suspended and will now be sacked imvho.

Where the individual has refused to carry out a reasonable instruction he/she should be given 5-10 minutes ‘cooling off’ time to reconsider his/her actions before being precautionarily suspended. The individual should be encouraged to see his/her local representative during this period when possible.

Well its clear the managers didn't give the 5-10 minutes cooling off time. Must have been the managers fault. If the headbutt is true, getting sacked is inevitable.

As a postie at christian rd peston , this is just a build up of problems with this jumped up postie/driver and union rep becoming a acting manager who will stop at nothing in his attempted rise to the top. there was no headbutt , just a nose to nose argument which resulted in the postie being suspended and the manager remaining in his post . there is a meeting in the morning at 6am

what manager isn t a failed postie thats how the business is in the mess its in the lack of proper management skills and being able to man manage , not bully and harass people no skill whatsoever
