Hi
Got a bit of a problem and would like some advice if you can.
I will breifly tell you whats up.
What is happening is at my DO one of the older postman (im 47) has apparently been told by ATOS that he must be put on a driving duty for medical reasons. Our DOM has been told this .
The postman concerned is not a driver but they are now putting him through the changeover.
Bet you can guess where this is going.
We are a small office , there are 7 driving duties. Im on one of them and the rumour mill is they are going to kick me off my duty, i signed for it 16 months ago after the "walk sequencing revision" we havent had methods one, my problem being there are 2 drivers who are below me in seniority. Me myself have been suffering hip problems and tbh will struggle with a daily delivery. What i need to know is can i refuse to move or complain somehow (grievience) I cant ask our office rep as hes in bed with the dom and agrees to everything and it was probably his idea to move me
Thanks in advance
Dave

Re: Can anyone help
Sorry ebbzie.
Must have missed the message.
I think the problem you have is that reasonable adjustments can mean that a duty can be identified that either matches the needs of the person with the disability or can be adapted to fit those needs...so that means it could be any duty and nothing to do with seniority.
That could leave you displaced which normally means that you get first pick of any vacant duties until the next repick.
Unfortunately in such a small office that means nothing.
I don't think there really is much you can do although if a full delivery will be a problem for you maybe you should also ask for a referral to ATOS.

Re: Can anyone help
if you are suffering from hip problems are you covered by atos or your gp?
if not get covered....then your duty could get protected

You will be moved off the duty, so it would be best to get the ATOS referral, but the time fact involved my be against you, you will be playing catch-up to the other bloke who is already in the ATOS /Royal Mail systemebbzie wrote:Been to Gp moses , think i need to see DOM and request getting referred to ATOS, is this the way to do it?
