We were told that in WTLL but I think its just a ploy to scare any wavers and anyway they will take all 4 days from the 2nd week so all you need to do is save the 2 days from the previous week and you should be ok.

I think that you will find that the deadline for informing Sheffield HR is on tuesday to abate any pay that week so for the first week when we strike on Friday and Saturday the deadline has passed; unless they guess who is going to strike they cant abate any pay untill the second week. In the second week they will know who has been on strike Friday and Saturday the previous week and who has been on strike Monday and Tuesday - Hence why we shall be stopped 4 days pay in the second week.

I feel a bit guilty as it falls on my long weekend so i shall only have to lose 2 days pay.

Scaremongering tactics. How can managers tell if your going on strike or not. Also, if my manager dares to stop my pay all in one week, i'll put in the fatest grievence against him citing victimisation as i decided to strike. Put these managers on the back foot cos they become speechless twats.

Spot on. Will be a few people at work moaning about this but simple solution really. I`ve heard a lot moaning about having to pay the mortgage, etc. I have one too, but if it gets to the stage where I don`t think I`ll have it by the end of the month I`ll phone them and ask for a payment holiday (bit like the RM pension one only not for 7 years or whatever it was!). I`d rather pay off my mortgage a month or two late than cave in. Generally I think they`re ok if you let them know in advance rather than just defaulting on the payment.
To those who say there`s no point in striking all I say is "If you were cornered by someone who told you they were gonna kick seven types of crap out of you what would you do? Let them get on with it or at least give them a bloody nose or a kick in the nuts in the process and know that you had a go?"

i think you'll find we'll be better off if they stop 4 days in one week by paying less tax and NI than if it was 2 each week
