Verbal and physical bullying

Hi

I need some advice, I have been bullied and harassed for approx 6 years now and enough is enough. Today I was physically pushed by a colleague. In the past my car has been spat on, I am constantly harassed every day of my working week. All I want to do Is goto work earn a living and go home I keep myself to myself and don't bother nobody. I have talked to my line managed and d.o.m and nothing gets resolved. Each time I am told I need evidence, the persons involved are taking there opportunity to harass me when no one is around or can hear, so it's difficult for me to prove. I feel emotionally drained every day prior to going into work todo my shift I just think what's going to happen today. It's making me Ill I struggle to sleep at night. I used to love this job now because of a small group of people they are making my working life hell which is now affecting my home life and well being.
What options do I have as I feel talking to my managers just isn't working I have to put a stop to this?

I suggest you ring the B & H helpline, there are a few numbers but I only have 0800 6888 777 to hand at the mo. After talking to them management cannot ignore it as there is a paper trail. I've been through this process but I took the B & H complaint out against a manager and won.

Couple of blokes like to be heard all the time in our office constantly shouting, they are abusive and racist.management has a word then it's back to normal after a few days.
I do have a witness for today's incident. Just gets you down everyday you know. I hate the indoor element of the job because of the constant harassment and bullying. I'm not the only one who these people do this to in our office. Complaints have been made against the same group of people.

good luck Jpostie2009, no one should feel intimidated at work by anyone and the managers are not doing their job by making sure Bullying does not go on in their DO.

Bullying is not acceptable even if someone is a 'scab'.

Its unbelievable this sort of schoolboy bullying is perpatrated by supposed grown men.Theres a difference between consentual banter with those who wish to participate (makes the job bearable) and ganging up and picking on those that dont. As others have said ring the B&H helpline,they'l soon MAKE the managers put a stop to it.

I suggest you get a good smart phone and have everything recorded... When it starts, just flick your phone on voice record. I will suggest that you do not shove a phone camera in people's face but collect as much evidence as you can.

And back-up your evidence and don't give it to your DOM or any of those that should have helped but failed to do so.

The best thing is to get a transfer to another office that would solve all your problems you have put up with this too long they see you as easy target all the time they need to be dealt with but this business can not do it they just don't have enough cover to suspend a group of people it just would not happen your office has to witness this first hand or they have to lose it at the wrong time

I would second that. If you cannot afford a smart phone then you can get a digital dictaphone for £16 from ebay.

I have bought one of these for SWL listening and the mic is very good. You could leave it running in your top shirt pocket all day in case something happens.

you dont need to buy no smart phones etc. just phone the helpline up now its a 24 hour line get this sorted out now.makes me angry gang off w@@@ in the office get them all f@~@@ sacked sorry

In response to a comment above , yes this started to happen because I had to go into work during a strike. I had personal and valid reason my home was being purchased under a compulsory purchase order and at that time I needed wage slips to obtain a new mortgage. Otherwise I wouldn't have gone in but what can you do in a situation like this ? I have to provide a home for my family first and foremost.
Thankyou all for your advice it's much appreciated I will take comments on board, I will be calling the h&b line tomorrow. I am currently a reserve 8 years service, I have spoke to my managers before about transferring and the response is only if you change your contract to part time. Im in a catch 22 situation!
Manager seems to be just interested in axing as many full time staff as possible by any means.

so the problem is being a strike breaker well you deserve all you get.you should get a transfer to another office (not london)
or become a manager or get another job.

Situation house been demolished by council ,have to get a mortgage and the costs involved in moving home.Need pay slips to get a mortgage. No work - no pay no - no mortgage.
Unless you've been in that situation I don't think it's fair to judge somebody. If the shoe was on the other foot I'm sure you would not like to endure 6 years of h&b .
Previous to this I supported every strike !! Work to rule etc which i still do now. Where as these people who harass and bully still go in half hour early throwing in there walks and prepping another.private vehicles on delivery,run round like headless chickens. Is that advised by the union ??
