just been talking to some-one from distrubution x spelling and he reckons as i start work @ 4.45 i should be getting shift allowance ,i usedto get it then, i had it on grandfather rights ,every-one had that taken away; but most peoples hours changed with this new system (later starts) my start times changed for a while but then i went back to 4.45 start any idea's

If you're in delivery....no.

We have also reviewed arrangements for early shift payments in delivery. It has been agreed to cease and incorporate the total value of these payments (£52 million door-to-door, and £40m delivery early shift allowance and "grandfather" rights) into a new permanent (non-pensionable) supplement to basic pay. This is payable to all delivery office employees directly tagged to and working in the delivery function.
