How long to prep door 2 doors?

Have the figures changed now we have to do 1/6th a day? Whats is the latest info we have as too how long it takes to prep up to 6 door to doors? Thanks.

The latest figures I saw were 5 minutes per contract per 500 delivery points, assuming 20% per day.

The logic escapes me! Surely if one contract takes 4 mins, then all the others in turn should take 4 mins also. 3x4 etc

The theory behind it is that 1 or 2 contracts are prepped one at a time into the frame.
Anything above 2 are collated first(not nested) and prepped into the frame all at once.
This allegedly takes less time than individual prepping hence the difference in times.

I have no intention of my collegue and i delivering just leaflets to any house therefore they are NESTED in the biggest leaflet.

You can bet your bottom dollar that that this so-called "live" environment was a delivery frame that contained no prepped mail, all single slots and perhaps the more 'ergonomically easy' D2D items, certainly not the recent British Red Cross or Royal British Legion crap that contained not only pens but in the former case two bloody drinks coasters as well...

It's a bit like saying "how long is a piece of string? .... The more you get and the more fiddly they are the longer it takes. I don't believe RM when they say they have been factored in to prep time etc etc. How can they be if you don't know how many you are getting from 1 week to the next? This week I have 3 and easy to prep. Last week 4 and not so easy. Week before 5 and a mare to deal with. It is another thing that gets swept under the carpet. No wonder the managers cannot get the o/t figures to tally with the traffic figures. I still don't believe that they actually include them in the traffic which probably explains why they give people grief over how much they are booking.

The number of D2D are entered into the IWT which will adjust the expected prep time of your duty.
There are two versions of IWT,one is a forecast version which uses the expected D2D and the forecasted traffic from the Delivered Traffic Forecasting Tool(DTFT)to produce a resourcing model in advance(at least 3 weeks) which should be used at Weekly Resourcing Meetings with the rep.
The other is the live version of the IWT which should be populated daily with the real traffic figures and D2D.
The problem managers have is do you micro manage to the point of adjusting prep times on a weekly or even daily basis or do you go with an average prep time and firefight any issues as they appear?
To be honest heapsy i think it's better from an OPG point of view to ignore the science and go with the idea that they take as long as they take and if that means cutting off so be it.
I don't think we want to go down the alternative of being told on a daily basis exactly how much time this flawed and inaccurate tool tells us we have to prep.
