i'm obsessed with 'the plan'.... apparently

We are a large DO and have just undergone i think our 3rd attempt at a P&L revision.... there have been i think at least 3 people involved in this 'full-time' for the last 5 years at a cost of easily £300K-£400K ... and that is without any physical resources ie frames, bags, trolleys, vans etc...

Still today we are not resourcing 'the plan' correctly.... ie people are doing more IPS and Prep than the plan says we need/should be doing and are then being questioned/bullied about "why are you going over, you shouldn't be going over" ... (they'll even argue about 10 minutes)...

I have recently taken to asking specifically about such under resourcing and not operating to 'the plan'.... to the point of which i am now accused of being "obsessed about the plan".... surely we all (managers included) need to be 'obsessed' about the plan as it is the future direction the business has decided to go in and has put so much money into proving that it can get right.... ??

I fear the fact that they do not want to stick to the revision plan either means...

1. they don't (the managers on the floor) understand it fully themselves
2. they know it is not going to work
3. are trying to push/bully staff to make even more savings (they think)

I used to do a shed load of O/T when we had job and knock and still get back in time to get the kids from school.

Now the employer has had the revision (which in principle i agree with and support) and we have to work to time etc I dont get the O/T oppatunities anymore, so I do exactly as they say and work to my time.

Our revision was negotiated for months and months and months , reps and managers arguing over a minute here and there. I truly feel that to do those talks justice we should stick to what was agreed, or whats the point.

The agreement was that P.T's like me arrive at 8.35 walk to the fitting, band up and go, after loading and 10 min break.

the F.T partner will of been excused sorting duties etc because "Super sorters" will be in place, giving the F.Timer time to do D2D's redirects missorts etc on both walks.

I arrive at 8.35 and start banding . After 3 weeks of manager complaints I now have TWO managers finishing throwing out my mail AND doing my redirects Because my F.Timer is being dragged onto sorting (no d2d's tho - they have not been done on my walk for 3 weeks now.)

I just stood my ground and kept throwing the negotiated aggrement back at them in a polite but non-budging way .

We are also on our 3rd attempt. God knows how much we've blown othe planner and planning in general so far. Still ages off it actually happening. Not sure it will ever at this rate. Place is a joke.
