we have just starting to get involved in p&l, having 1.5hr big picture meetings etc etc, in regard to lapsing, will that now end if the walks are all timed correctly and everyone comes back at the time they are meant to.

If Royal Mail can get you to do, what you would have done on overtime a few years ago, but this time for nothing, they will.

Do your hours, take your breaks, and don't let those idiots make a fool of you.

There will never be an end to lapsing as long as mail volumes are or are perceived to be falling.
If you base a revision on X amount of traffic and Y call rate and Z attendance calls and the figures say that traffic didn't come in the door there will be scope for lapsing.
The lower you set your initial model week the less chance there is of the traffic dipping below that level and the less chance of lapsing.
Unfortunately a lower model week means when you fail you fail big time and if there is no stomach for extended delivery amongst the staff it will get very messy.
