Well as the title says the Mrs just left me. Bought a new property just under 4 years ago but did not realise how expensive it would actually be. Had to work every hour i could get just to pay the bills. Ended up ignoring her due to working too much, drinking at the weekend etc. Not at all on what we planned to do. Did not help that i cant stand the job since P&L. Just got more and more down and depressed.
In the end we could not stand each other and she walked out the other day. Doing the figures it comes to £1700 pm just to keep the place on. Don't earn that much. To sell the place it will take a few quid to get it ready. The only problem is it was bought on shared equity. The last one that sold here would only just pay back the mortgage never mind the 25% that the builders would want.
Eight years down the drain. Still love her to bits so i am in a right state now. Stressed out to the eyeballs worrying about finances. My back is playing up again(thanks to the job) but cannot afford any time off due to the financial situation.
Not sure why i posted this. Maybe its something to do with the perils of working for RF.
Sorry about your wife but don't despair about the house.............contact the CAB on Monday morning and explain and they should be able to help you...........in the worst case, just hand the keys back to the mortgage company, what are they going to do, take the house off you again?

You have our sympathies and may think things couldn't be much worse but at least you're not one of those in debt we often read about who ideotically thing theiving from the mail will help solve their problems.

Best of luck mate. I went through something similar years ago and at the time couldn't see any light at the end of a very long tunnel. Now though I'm in a great marriage and generally pretty happy with life. Things will improve and if you ever want to chat I'm only a PM away!

It sounds like alcohol problem to me, if you can't go teetotal for a week then you need to seek help.
You appear to have all the signs of an alcohol related breakup and quitting it should fix them. Unhappiness at work, irritated by the wife, feeling trapped and depressed are all caused by or made worse by alcohol.
