Starting work before your official starting time

Hello, loads of ppl at my office start before there time, isn't there anything under health and safety that says they shouldn't be in the building?

They are obviously not well in the head and shouldn't be allowed near sharp corners or pointy things.

How annoying, managers at my place say they don't like ppl coming in early but they do nothing to stop them

Managers say one thing. They do another.
If they wanted to stop it they could.
Don't start before your time - is a reasonable instruction. Going against it could lead to action under the conduct code and potential dismissal.
But really no-one cares.

If the early starters claim o/t for extended delivery is it classed as outdoor pressure or indoor pressure - or does nobody care about that either?

The sad thing is Storm...they don't.
Why would they when they are up to an hour ahead of those who do the job properly before the day starts and the IWT kicks in....you would have to be seriously s**t at the job to have that head start and still have to run about like a headless chicken.
They tend to be the kind of scum who never do their fair share of anything and just wander about clearing down a couple of letters,getting in everyone's way and making the rest of us look bad.
Look at me i'm fully prepped...i should f***ing think so...you've been glued to that frame since before i got out of bed.

When I come in for the start of my duty which is 40 mins before the majority start there are always the usual idiots in well before their time. When they see me they come out with the most bizarre excuses for being in early. One of them said he was in early because he had to go to the loo.....I said to him do they not have toilets in your town then. Then you get the ones that sneak in and grab their mech and think you've not seen them

we have a guy that comes in up to 2 hours early EVERY day, he is part time and is in way before the full-timers. One day a couple of weeks ago he went an hour over on a particularly heavy day and claimed for it. The gaffer had him in and said "You don't actually think I'm paying you for an hour over when you work all the other hours for free do you?" and took it off him!

This was the big issue when I was working as a
postie. There were 10 of us on a good day who
started on time, the other 40 were rushing around
like total pr**s when we left the canteen on time.
They were collecting their flats when the boss shouted
" everyone on sorting please". And one w****r who
used to come in a hour and a half early, used to make
out he hadn't heard the shout and just carried on his
frame. We were way behind when they were going out
on deliveries, and the management then had the bare
faced cheek to question us as to why we were so far

at the moment im the only person having a break this morning! totally shocking, i know it a saturday and stuff but we are entiled to a break and im finishing dead on time so will be a big pile for me to do on monday but isnt my problem.
i just wish i was in a office what would stand up for themself,i thought us scottish ppl are meant to be hard but not at my office.
ppl even get the overtime they booked scrubbed out, why cant ppl see how bad they treat us. arghhhhhhhhhhh

yip numpties come in early but most of you should be thankful as at least you dont have an area rep working in your office who comes in early,wears trainers,takes D2D home, carrying over weight bags sprinting doon the street with 'i made these earlier' p739s ....but hey I could flag this up to eh mm..well no f****r actually
