I don't pay for the national union...............I pay my money for the rep in my office............and if they don't live up to my expectations then I will stand myself and stand up myself...............but I do trust my rep.

What's YOUR union like Locker Dave ... or doesn't your much vaunted position require the services of one?

As DGP said, "I don't pay for the national union ............... I pay my money for the rep in my office", and in my experience many local and area reps do a good job and care about their colleagues - if they don't, then it is the memberships job to rectify that.

No amount of contributions will buy you a union leadership that works to everyones requirements and in the case of all but the most militant, nowadays they can only try to stem the tide of capitalism that is sweeping up our beaches. The militant option leaves far more casualties in the longer term and that is where our consciences kick in as a workforce and we hesitate to take the next step.

Maybe that is why you left us ... because your conscience was part of the price you paid for your new lifestyle.

Union fees do far more than pay our officials and we can give up the other benefits that go with that if we so wish, but this flock doesn't need a sheeps head like you to tell us what we need to do.

I hope that contributes suitably to the abuse that you obviously thrive on Locker Dave - consider it as payment for the amusement you have provided for me as a collector of failed postie's memoirs :)

Do not know exactly know how many Royal Mail employ but the figure would be a lot less but for the Union, in fact there would be a lot less full time employees to boot, I also know that in my office certain individuals owe their job to the union.
Being in the Union is a personnel decision so I do not need the likes of you to tell me how to spend my money

Well said i left around 6 yrs ago or near then during the national strikes and have never been asked to re-join at all. I guess there dont need my money at all

Should not have expected much from an organization that takes your money (£3.33) every week then when any problems arise WE have to pay again as their only answer is for us to strike!!!!!!!
