Hello, a fella in our office has been DOM Assit for a couple of years now, the job was never advertised. He basically got it because he was a s**t postman.
Is this right he can just get it like that? He reckon he did get interviewed, but 100% the job wasn't advertised.

just so you know Dom Assist positions are now advertised on the intranet
they do not put a notice up in the office now it is all done online
so it is entirely possible it was advertised and if you didn't look online you would not have seen it

And there in that sentence is the problem union reps have, trying to explain to the slackers and runners and cheaters that its actually fair for the business to ask you to give something in return for every penny they pay you...

I thought Royal Mail ran on seniority? fair opportunities within the workplace??
