What does bsi mean?

I keep seeing it mentioned in posts, 100bsi etc. I have no idea what it means.

The indoor workload tool is set with a pace you should work at.
Think of it as the indoor equivalent of the outdoor walking speed.
The higher the bsi the quicker the work should be completed.

RM want to use 100 bsi as the set standard.
Most people don't regard this as an achievable workrate (75 being what a Mail Centre works at) or a sustainable workrate.
But a higher bsi gives them more paper savings and increases the pressure on colleagues as they will struggle to complete their indoor work on time.

they got the idea during the last dispute, they said to acas, we want 100bsi as a standard rate, acas replied, do you know what that means?traders on the phones on the london stock exchange work at 100bsi, for that they are well paid and well motivated, no physical work, and most are burnt out after ten years, those are the ones going mental on the phones shouting sell, buy etc, we need to get back to acas asap,otherwise, us posties are going to fall like flies!!!!

They would only have 3 runners as they would want to lapse one of the legs.
The 3 runners would be expected to maintain their 100m speed over the longer distance or face conduct charges.
And instead of a baton they would have a dog peg. Sorry - posting peg.
And some twat would be paid overtime to draw pictures about holding the handrail to keep safe.

Capable observers must be trained in the art of rating, first recognizing the standard rating and then, through practising, assessing against this standard other levels of rates of working. Rating scales have been developed. One of the original ones is Charles Bedaux’s, known as the “60/80 scale”. Bedaux considered that workers paid on a fixed daywork system without any financial incentive would normally do 60 minutes worth of work in an hour whereas one on a financial bonus scheme would get the work done on average one third faster, doing 80 minutes work in an hour (incentive rate).
