My basic A/L for this current year is 22.5 days on 25hrs a week. I have been given my annual leave card for 2013/2014 and asked to book my 2 priority weeks already! But my at the top where it says basic entitlement it says 18, why have I lost 4.5 days?
Has anyone else had this?

22.5 equals four and a half weeks off on a five day working week, and 18 equals four and a half weeks off on a four day working week, so I'm guessing that you've moved from a five-day working week to a four-day working week. Do I win a prize?
Well still on 25hrs a week so that's not changed. How they do days off has changed but in theory work the 25hrs over 5 days with a day off plus Sunday.
If wanted to book 5 days off for 4 weeks then that's 20days minimum. Not sure why this year it's 22.5 and next it's 18 when do the same -unless they changing the working week next year ??
All of these have an effect on the amount of days, but not the hours, leave you get.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
One day off a week plus Sunday, every 4th week is Friday and Saturday off. They have just changed set days off on a rolling rota and now get told the week before!
Still a bit confusing tbh,i think.
