Network 12 Stage 3 - Provisional Deployment Date

Further to LTB 589/12, Branches will be aware that Stage 3 local discussions have been taking place at all Network VOC's, with progress jointly monitored by the Network Working Group in line with the Network 12 Joint Statement circulated in LTB 233/12.

The joint commitment in the Business Transformation 2010 agreement is to deploy the Network 12 revisions by the end of summer and Branches will be aware that the business had an aspiration to deploy before the end of September. Following a meeting of the Network Working Group on the 12th September 2012 where progress of the revision activity at all sites was considered, it was agreed that while many sites now have duty sets there has been insufficient progress in some areas to support a September 2012 deployment.

Given the outstanding issues it was not possible to agree a recommendation to the National Network Steering Group (NLSG) on a deployment date. However, both parties have agreed at this stage to work towards a provisional target deployment date of the 8th October 2012. Confirmation of the deployment date by the NLSG will be conditional on continued progress on the remaining Network 12 revision activity and the resolution of any outstanding issues.

In addition the department has also requested that all other Network BT 2010 revision activity for 2012 in RDC's, Air Hubs and Transport Admin is completed and deployed on the same date as the Network 12 revision.

Local discussions should continue with the objective of completing duty/rotation construction and duty re-signs where necessary, in line with the Network 12 Joint Statement. Branches are reminded that the Network Working Group is available to assist in the development of positive and pragmatic local solutions.

The final agreed deployment date for the Network 12 revision activity will be communicated to Branches and Representatives once this has been finalised with the business and endorsed by the NLSG. Until this time it is stressed that there should be no deployment of any Network 12 duties.

Branches are requested to ensure that our Network representatives are made aware of this communication as soon as possible.
