Questions about Amazon Lockers and Supermarkets

I have a couple of questions about Amazon Locker and delivering to supermarkets in general.

1. I went into a local supermaket I deliver to yesterday and gave the woman (supervisor) on the kiosk a tracked item for the Amazon locker. Today when I went in she was saying don't give her Amazon parcels as she is not authorised to have them and that I should be going straight over to the locker. Is this correct, I have not been told anything about these things from management? What the hell would I do when I got to the locker, aren't they meant to have a key in the store?

2. Same woman, a right snotty cow she is by all accounts - the same local supermarket has a petrol station. I have had this previously with her, where she tries to get me to take letters to for the petrol station over to the petrol station even though they are addressed to '(insert supermatket) petrol station'. I said to her a supermarket is counted as one delivery point and that if all supermarket's asked me to go round to their different departments distributing letters I'd be there all day. Where do I stand on this, am I in the right or if she kicks off and complains will I get in any crap for it?

On your second point enter an incomplete supermarket address, or a partial address for the same street as the supermarket, and the town on the Royal Mail's Postcode Finder site and see if it just comes up with just one possible address for that supermarket That should be easier than contacting RM's Address Management Unit at Sunderland.

looking at the locker,I dont see how it can be delivered to
The keypad is for collections
unless the packet carries instruction on what code to enter(to open a specific door)
then how could you deliver to it?

Instead of delivering a parcel to your home or business address, you can choose to have your order delivered to an Amazon Locker or Collect+ store, so you can collect your parcel at a time that's convenient for you. Once your parcel is delivered to the pickup location, you'll receive an email notification with a unique pickup code.

If your order is delivered to an Amazon Locker, at the pickup location you'll find a set of lockers, one of which will contain your parcel. You'll enter your pick-up code and the locker with your parcel will open. If your order is delivered to a Collect+ store, you'll need to give your pick-up code and identification to the store keeper who'll retrieve your package for you.

Probably easier emailing Amazon to ask than your manager ;)

My thoughts exactly, it's also conveniently located quite far into the store so I have to either leave my trolley unguarded at the door or fight past shoppers with my unwieldy trolley. Brilliant stuff. I'll ask my manager tomorrow!

Yep, comes up with the just one address, also it's only one address in my frame, so I'm not dead keen for little hitler shop supervisors to be telling me I have a new delivery point on my already big round.

I thought Amazon lockers were part of a joint venture between Amazon and one of the courier companies. If so, RM staff should not be having anything to do with it. Unless the courier can't cope and is shifting stuff onto us........

Yep I think I will do that next time, the best comeback to snotty shop workers I suppose is to say, 'So you are refusing it? I will return it to the sender then' and be on your way. Meet snottiness with snottiness and all that. Not really in my nature but I think I can manage it for this one woman.

You deliver to a big supermarket using a trolley? Isn't it miles through the car park and miles back again? Or are you talking about about small, local supermarkets on a street? I wouldn't have thought they'd do the Amazon Locker thing.

We do supermarkets in a van, one drivers, the other jumps out and delivers. Large Asda type stores, in a retail park type setting. Nightmare on Saturdays.

Asked my lino today about Amazon Lockers, he said we don't touch them, my job begins and ends by taking the parcel in store with the rest of the mail and giving it the staff.

Petrol station he said if it's one delivery point then that's the end of it., I don't have to go out of my way.

Result!
