Looks like our wee spdo is now inline for a revision, a member of staff is going part time and management want to take hours out of our office.
Could someone tell me where i can find the options for shift patterns? At the moment were on every 6th week off, we have 5 deliverys and 1 person covering the rest weeks at present but guess we'll be loosing that.
Is there anything else we need to know like what walking speeds should they be inputting into the computer to create the new deliverys?

Cheers, have informed him being a spdo we're quite some distance from him so can't just go and see him.
Re duty structures/days off etc. i suppose until they create the new walks we won't know what delivery spans were looking at so won't know which structures would be suitable. If we loose our wallington week then the general feeling is we'd like to work longer days and have more days off if possible.

As the six of you know your rounds/area/workload better than anyone in town does - you can come up with your own suggestion of a review. Wallingtons or restdays work exactly the same - you need a floater for both. Come up with an idea that saves some hours and put it forward.

Surely saving hours though means somebody is going to be forced to go part time or go to the main delivery office?
We have 5 full time jobs now, 1 person wants to go part time so were no longer going to have 5 full time jobs so how will the wallington system work?

The 1 person who wants to go part time will give them some savings,you can't really give them anymore unless another one of you either goes part time or goes to another office.
These revision are not savings based (
) get your area rep on to it asap like i've said before,they are going to try and do you over.
I would also 'guess' you could absorb more indoor work for the walley week,you would have to absorb some of the the part timers work anyway.

Don't worry our rep will be sorting this out, not sure how we can do anymore indoor work as we only get our mail walksorted not sequenced and all flats/parcels have to be done manually.
We originally thought they'd replace the person who wants to leave with the rest week cover bloke then somebody new would do the rest weeks but that doesn't seem to royal mail's plan.
I guess until our walks are run thru the computer and it comes up with how many full/part time jobs as office should have we can't really thing about duty structures.
