Redundancy terms

Hi, a guy in the office has asked me to look for the latest redundancy terms, can someone point me in the right direction please.

Sounds like someone in our office , must be the richest guy there but won't buy a car or bike, no mortgage or rent to pay, borrows dvds and music and won't even buy a pc never mind pay for the internet!

It is a bit complicated.
Your manager will have a sort of ready reckoner which will give you a rough idea of what you might get depending on your length of service.
If VRs are on offer and you are seriously interested then HR prepare a quote of what they will offer you.

It would be pointless someone on here telling you what you would get as without all the facts it would be pointless.

redundancy has to be offered you cant just say you want it

when the MTSF agreement refers to
0.5 weeks' Pay for each full year of service where age during year is less than 22
1.0 weeks' Pay for each full year of service where age during year is 22 or above, but less than 41
1.5 weeks' Pay for each full year of service where age during year is 41+
multiplied by 3.75

what is the definition of a week's pay ?

Is it solely basic pay that counts ? Or do shift allowances, delivery supplement and suchlike count towards the definition ?

If you're lucky enough to qualify for the maximum 2 years' pay (i.e. 104 weeks), then inclusion of the delivery supplement in the definition would add over £1300 to the VR amount, so it does make a difference to the likely sums on offer ....

That's because there's always mail to be delivered even though mail volumes are dropping so drastically .

Under IHR terms the weeks pay is calculated for a F/T OPG Basic pay Plus the two lots of Delivery Supplement
totalling about £393 per week
