d2d's prepped in by person for someone else!

The person on the delivery next to me prepped all his d2d's in when he got back today ( 3 lots) for the whole delivery even though he has got the day off on Monday! The bare faced cheek of it!!
p.s the manager asked me to do half of it on Monday,I said no as i'm on a collection,I would have said yes,but that was before i saw the d2d's were all in.

I actually don't think people should prep D2Ds a day b4 bcos it is doing work outside the hours - it all counts and gives false impressions It makes me laugh some of the loud-mouths in our place lays into people (usually p/timers) for coming in early. And yet, some prep and d2ds and some even do flats on return or before going on collection

Some posties just don't like to work their contracted hours - they are too used to 'job and finish'.

I don't care much as it is flexi-time; but the managers use such situations to pressure other posties that want to work their time and those that want to work at a reasonable pace.

Probably because he knows damn well that the guys who do the walk on O/T on Monday will not prep and deliver the 1 x 6th of D2D's and he will be left with them all to do the rest of the week.
Obviously I generalise as most guys would do their fair share, but if this chap has had his fingers burnt in the past - I dont blame him.
The question should be "Why would any postie not do D2D's when covering a colleages shift on Monday" ?

We have people that come in Saturday morning when we have all left to prep their door to doors if they have been on holiday that week. Unbelievable.

I had a guy, this week, put in his D2D for Saturday when he was off on the Thurs. The thing is that he did not put the saturday at the start of the week but after work on Wednesday. He was my partner for some parts of the week - I was a reserve/spare tyre and due to work the other paired walk on his day off.

There were 4 d2ds and some of the slots are doubled - hence, the delivery person (myself and Co) were made to take them all or wade through the d2ds to extract the letters. His part of the paired walk was being thrown out by a manager and/or some bloke (he does not give a...) on reduced hours; the letters were embedded in the D2Ds.

Some of our lot prep the next day's door-to-doors if they get back to the office before their time. Perosnally, I'm quite happy to take that 10-15 minutes for myself, as an extra 'bonus' for a hard day's slog done well.

I don't care if the d2d's dont go on my day off its not my problem,as Long as I do them on the other 4 days thats all that matters,if the relief doesn't want to do them fine,I don't give a flying f**k

I would do exactly the same, unless the lino specifically brought the issue up before I pulled them out. Each and every day has one sixth of the D2D prep and delivery as part of the workload, it is not my job to automatically mop up the mess left by others on the last day of the week, I deliver the day's clearly marked sections and that is it... Unless asked to do otherwise by management, if I get asked to prep in and deliver extra, I choose if I am happy to do the o/t or ask management to relieve me of the excess workload beyond my contract hours.
