How can a company with public obligations, a strong union and a fierce regulator compete in an open market?
In my opinion RM can only ever compete once all these 3 constraints are removed, which of course means privatisation.
I am generally against privatisation because the public will get a poorer service, but the reality is that the public seem uninterested in the dispute nor the goverment.
So I say stuff 'em. Why not privatise it and solve it in one go.
Completely open market = Bye Bye regulator
No Universal service = Rival postal deliveries will be set up
Fiercley competitive mail market = Bye Bye union strength
End result will be a crap service at minimum cost for all.
Crap wages and conditions for all mail employees.
The mega fat cats have an extra mansion, 10 mercs and 3 extra zeros in their bank accounts!!!
