probably depend on why said person was dismissed, you are possibly a witness in support of either the original managers position or your colleague, could be along the lines of you have done their duty in past and can state if or if not it can be completed in time, or may have been present when something has allegedly been said and your there to support or deny it, i would make sure you ask for a rep to accompany you just to make sure you dont end up saying something that may get you into trouble unless you have to

There will probably be a follow up letter detailing the minutes of the meeting and you will be asked to verify by way of signature. Read through very carefully, and make sure that the minutes accurately reflect the meeting and more importantly if you have supported your colleague, that everything that you said has been noted. From experience they tend to leave out items they do not want to hear, but you have the right to have everything that you have said minuted. This could be very important if your colleague goes to ET.

The make sure you have a witness in the meeting. An independent one, as in one that is not involved in the case and won't be called as a witness. If its possible that disciplinary action may result, and being accused of something may well do so, then you are entitled to Union representation.
